One of the more fascinating things I discovered when poring over Degree Forum was the existence of the Pierpont Board of Governors Associate of Applied Science degree.
This is a degree program that awards older students who have acquired college credits an associates degree. You must be a few years past high school, and have the right mix of credits to be eligible to receive the degree.
For me, I applied and submitted by transcripts from Iowa, CCAC, and Sophia/Credly. I did a handful of back and forth emails with the program coordinator to make sure I had indeed fulfilled all of the requirements, and that they were transferring in as the right equivalency. I got notice that everything was good, and I would officially graduate at graduation date.
That’s it. All I paid for was transcript fees. The staff I talked to were all top notch, and they seem to really care about helping folks get credit for the work they have done.
